HEREFORD defender Jared Hodgkiss has been appointed as captain for the forthcoming campaign.

The 34-year-old full-back is in his third season with the club after joining in July 2019.

Hodgkiss was also skipper last season and led the Bulls out at Wembley in the FA Trophy final.

"It's a privilege to captain a great club like Hereford," said Hodgkiss talking to Keith Hall for the club's website. FULL VIDEO

"We can't wait now the friendlies are all done and out of the way.

"We can't wait for Saturday and we will give it a right good go.

"As you get older you just want to stay fit and injury free which is the main thing individually."

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Brandon Hall has been appointed as vice-captain for the season.

Hall joined the Bulls in May 2019 after leaving Kidderminster Harriers.

The shot stopper was a valuable member of the FA Trophy finalist team last season.

"It was a bit of a surprise but it's nice to be voted by the lads, added Hall talking to Keith Hall. FULL VIDEO

"I must be doing something okay to get the vote. It's a nice position to have to back up Jared (Hodgkiss).

"I've been here for three years and I'm getting to an age where I'm probably a senior player in the team so a bit more responsibility."
