A HEREFORD teenager is set to compete for National triathlon honours later this year.
Last weekend saw Halo Sports Foundation athlete Henry White travel to compete in the Sandwell Junior triathlon.
This also incorporated the qualifying race for the West Midlands IRC (Inter-Region Championships) team.
The race consisted of a 300-metre open water swim followed by a six kilometre bike and finishing with a 2.4km run.
White completed the swim in 3mins 55 secs this left him in third position heading onto the bike leg and coming off the bike he remained in third.
On the final discipline the 2.4km run Henry posted the fastest run of the day (8mins 22secs) securing him a podium position qualifying him for the West Midlands team for the national championships.
