Bradford City 1 Hereford United 3 HEREFORD maintained their remarkable form on the road with their eighth away win of the campaign, writes RICHARD PRIME.

It was the Bulls' first league double of the season, completed in front of the biggest crowd to watch them this term, 13, 640.

Hereford looked lively in the early stages and took the lead on 18 minutes when Theo Robinson pounced to rifle the ball home from close range after the home defence failed to deal with Simon Johnson's free-kick.

Johnson, whom Bradford rejected after a pre-season trial, was involved again when Hereford extended their lead eight minutes before the break.

The England under-20 international delivered a perfect corner which Dean Beckwith thundered home with his head.

David Weatherall reduced arrears but Trevor Benjamin restored Hereford's two-goal advantage in injury-time, volleying home after Johnson had returned a free-kick into the area.

Only once, when they won the old Third Division title in 1975-6, have Hereford won more times away from home in a Football League campaign.

In that season, they won 12 times away, a target which is achievable this term with almost half of the campaign remaining.
