BROMYARD skipper Greg Leighton with the bat and ball as they overcame Worcestershire Premier county rivals Colwall in a very low scoring affair. After being put into bat Colwall bowler Elliot Hennessey (4-28) made inroads clean bowling Nick Leighton to leave Bromyard on 5-1.

Bromyard opener Ian Bullock finally found a partner to anchor in skipper Leighton and the pair put on 20 runs before the pace of Sam Witham (1-35) was too much for Bullock to depart for 30. Leighton managed to anchor the tail, losing partners at infrequent intervals giving Bromyard a total of 124 to defend.

Bromyard also found form in their bowlers with the spin of David Taylor (4-51) and the accurate bowling of captain Leighton (5-49).

Elliot John Hennessey (15) showed good poise at the crease but none of the other middle order could match this.

Colwall only began to look set when Andrew Robertson (14) and Chris Kendall (27*) occupied the crease, both finding the bowling of Taylor and Leighton very comfortable.

They took the Colwall total to 72 before Robertson was adjudged LBW with the hosts all out for 101.
