SIRDIC Grant made a fine debut on his return for Westfields assisting with two goals during their 4-0 win over Bromyard on Tuesday night.

The former Hartpury student previously impressed for Westfields and Hereford FC before returning to Ghana.

The winger has now returned to the UK and signed for Westfields.

Grant played a part in both of Richard Greaves' opening two goals in the county cup quarter-final before Cooper netted a third and Cameron Peters netted the final goal.

“Me and Sid have been chatting most of the season and I’ve kept in touch with him,” said Fields manager Phil Glover.

“He’s somebody I was really interested in getting in as he’s been at the club before. He’s a lovely lad off the pitch and highly talented on it.

“I was lucky enough to play with Sid during our cup run so I know his qualities well.

“He’s been training with us for the last month and it was great to have it all finalised by the FA. It’s really positive for us, we’ve also got Keanu Cooper back from an illness and Craig Jones back training so it’s like three new signings for us.

“They are all top quality players who have played higher or can play a high standard.

Grant, Jones and Cooper all appeared for Westfields during their 4-0 win over Bromyard.

Glover says he is awaiting the response from the Hellenic League on whether they return to Allpay Park for their tie against Flackwell Heath on Saturday.

“I was at the ground yesterday and we’re hoping with the flood going down that we will be back on the pitch and that it will be playable at the weekend," added Glover.

“The flood at Allpay Park does go down very quickly providing the league gives us the nod to get the game on.”

Elsewhere, Sam Pearson scored a hat-trick for Wellington who beat Ludlow Town Colts 4-0 in the other quarter-final tie with Luke Griffiths also scored.

At the County Ground, Lads Club fought out a 0-0 draw with promotion rivals Shortwood United.
