DESPITE giving it their best effort Greyhound Ladies fell to a 48-7 defeat at home to promotion hopefuls Cannock Lionesses Ladies.
Greyhound were promoted to the Women's NC 1 West last season and are the only full contact women's rugby side in the county.
Emily Griffiths scored and converted the only try for the hosts during the defeat.
Meanwhile, Greyhound's men took a 7-5 victory over Atherstone in the Midlands 5 West (South).
Liam Webdale's try, crucially converted by Kev Murphy, was enough for Greyhound to secure their fourth win of the season.
Elsewhere in Midlands 4 West (South), Bromyard were handed a home walkover against Harbury.
