WESTFIELDS are prepared to play anyone, any time and anywhere as they continue their pursuit of the Hellenic Premier honours.

Despite a difficult week for the club with the flooding of Allpay Park clubhouse the first team put on a professional performance in a reversed tie at Burnham running away 2-0 winners.

While Allpay Park is out of action Fields are considering alternative options which could include playing home games at the County Ground.

"It's a busy part of the season and games are coming thick and fast," said Fields manager Phil Glover.

"While our ground is getting ready we are talking to the league who are looking at moving our fixtures.

"We will play anybody and anywhere and I will make sure the lads mentality is right. It was all up in the air last week and we are looking into every possibility.

"With the Herefordshire FA so close to us and them having a 3G pitch that's a sensible option.

"The league is also helping us while we get the club up and running."

With Ryan Green and Paul Hurrell both out injured for their tie at Burnham, Sam Rawlings moved into the centre and Ollie Butler came in at left back.

The changes showed the strength of the Westfields squad with both players having a great input into the clean sheet performance.

In the 32nd minute Sam Rawlings' was denied by a fine Joe Williams save and from the resulting corner Ben Hayes headed Fields into the lead at the far post.

Fields suffered a setback at the start of the second half with skipper Sam Gwynne suffering a nasty injury.

Despite a re-shuffle Fields continued to dominate and Aiden Thomas missed a golden opportunity to seal the points, shooting wide with the open goal at his mercy just after the restart.

The victory was sealed two minutes from time when Richard Greaves was tripped inside the box before getting up and scoring the resulting penalty.

"It was very good after a bit of a strange week with the flooding," added Glover.

"We couldn't train on Tuesday and it was a bit up in the air. For us it was key that we had a good game and went down there and were really professional.

"While everything was going on this week I tried to protect the players from that and not let them get involved.

"We didn't want the flood to affect out football side of things. First and foremost, what is really pleasing, is that we're limiting teams to hardly any chances, I think Burnham had one shot.

"That was testament to the way we set up and going forward we are getting results going forwards, mentally we were right."

With title rival Binfield drawing 2-2 the win meant Westfields stretched their gap to 15 points, although their rival has four games in hand.

"With Binfield dropping points we were keeping a little eye on that," added Glover.

"We've been in this position before way out in front and we got caught. We are trying to use all our experience over the years.

"Sean Edwards and Paul Willetts are helping with their experience and this year we are doing things slightly differently.

"It's our 20th win of the season, so we can't do too much more."
