LADS Club Ladies continued their unbeaten run in the Mid West Counties Female League with a local derby victory over Hereford FC Women.

With both teams eyeing a push for league honours it was a closely fought match played at Hereford Pegasus' Old School Lane.

Despite Lads Club applying pressure on their rivals, a first half goal from Jessica Kenny gave the Bulls a slender lead at the break.

Lads Club responded from the penalty spot though Mel Mayo to level the tie.

The league leaders then stamped their authority on the game scoring twice more through Amy Reynolds and Sharleen Watkins.

However, the Bulls responded resulting in Lauren Brown pulling a goal back from the penalty spot.

Despite the penalty the league leaders hung on to victory and sit 10 points clear at the top.

"It was a good game and a typical local derby," said Lads Club manager Marcus Jenkins.

"Both sides gave it their all on the day and we just pipped them. When you are top of the table and unbeaten then everybody wants to break that."

Lads Club Ladies have been playing their home matches at Hereford Leisure Centre.

They are due to return to the County Ground for their next home match.
