- On his first appearance this season young goalkeeper Brandon Powell was forced into a 19th minute save to deny Ashley Hemmings' effort which was spilled before being cleared by Kieran Thomas.
- The Bulls showed encouraging signs in the opening 23 minutes and Victor Sodiende was played in before jinking the defence and seeing his effort blaze off Kelsey Mooney.
- At the other end Richard Peniket came within an inch of heading his side ahead after meeting Ryan Johnson's cross.
- Harriers were the more dominant of the sides and on the 39th minute a Alex Prosser corner into a crowded box was headed goalward by Cliff Moyo only to be cleared off the line by Stephen Dawson.
- However, it was the Bulls who took a 51st minute lead thanks to a Victor Sodeinde penalty.
- Jason Pope's free-kick came back for Jordan Cullinane-Liburd who was taken down as he shot and Sodeinde made no mistake from the penalty spot.
- Kidderminster responded with Hemmings denied by a Kieran Thomas challenge before Richard Peniket headed over under pressure.
