AMERICAN football team Hereford Stampede have been awarded a place in National League SFC2 Central for next season.

The selection into the British American Football system follows two years of hard work by the Hereford team.

This year Hereford Stampede successfully completed an associate season where they had to prove their ability to the American football body.

Hereford have been positioned with fellow associate side Northants Knights along with Ouse Valley Eagles, Colchester Gladiators and Birmingham Bulls.

Hereford were one of three teams to successful navigate the associate process this season.

National League Associate Manager Richard Colin commented: "All three teams have done really well to pass through the process and we believe they will be excellent additions to the League."

Operations Manager Clive Dobbin added: "I’m pleased to welcome these three teams into the league for 2020. The associate process is a robust one, and teams which pass it are well placed to play in the National Leagues. These three teams have all earned their place and I’d like to congratulate them for their hard work."
