After three near misses Ledbury finally notched up their first win of the season with a 56-27 win over Edwardians.

Ledbury began well with a George Bennion penalty and soon increased their lead when number eight James Porter crashed over for a try.

Weak Ledbury scrummaging allowed Edwardians wing Jack Cheek to score in the corner after a turnover before crossing the whitewash again moments later.

Bennion managed to keep Ledbury in touch with another successful penalty, but from a set piece Cheek again outpaced the Ledbury defence to score in the corner for his hat-trick.

Ledbury’s Joel Skyers eventually broke from a maul after prolonged Ledbury pressure with a resulting trademark solo try which Bennion converted.

Edwardians continued to press but Matt Hallett found space to score just before half time to put Ledbury 25-17 ahead at the break.

After the break Jamie Rayfield darted over for a try, again converted by Bennion.

Edwardians were still in the match though as desperate defence by the home team resulted in a penalty converted by Kiaran Hughes.

Ledbury subsequently extended their lead after a mazy run by Charlie Barber-Starkey, who gave Hallett the scoring pass for his second in the corner.

Edwardians still kept in touch after good hands saw flanker Dave Coles scythe over for a try which Hughes converted.

The match then swung in Ledbury's favour when second row forward Ed Bennion scored in the corner followed by Chris Simcock.

Captain Tom Assal completed the rout For Ledbury after a 50-metre move, Bennion adding the extras.
