ROSS-ON-Wye continue to learn valuable lessons in the Gloucestershire Premier as they fell to a 31-10 defeat to Frampton Cotterell.

Following two successive promotions Ross are learning the hard way this term and two quick tries either side of half-time was enough for Cotterell to take victory.

Ross worked hard in the first 30 minutes enjoying a strong scrum lineout and territory.

However the hosts couldn't find the spark or piece of quality required to open the scoring.

After weathering the storm Frampton opened the scoring with a penalty .

Ross again couldn't find a way across the whitewash and were punished by two late first half tries which saw Frampton go into the break 17-0 ahead.

Ross did hit back after the break with a well worked Alex Davies try.

However two further scores from the visitors saw them pull away again and out of sight.

A late score from skipper Casey Morgan score wasn't enough for a losing bonus point and the visitors held on for a 31-10 win.

Whilst Ross have found it hard going in Gloucestershire Premier the squad is still tight and focussed on improving under the watchful coaching eye of Callum Harris.

Ross are away next Saturday at Hucclecote and are back at Greytree on October 5.

Ready for the new season Ross have opened their new clubhouse at Greytree.
