A CONVENIENCE store has sponsored the shirts of a border football team this season.
Presteigne St Andrews will have Premier in the town's High Street as their sponsor for the coming campaign.
Club chairman Mark Weiland accepted the new shirts from Raj from Premier in a presentation outside the shop recently.
The sponsorship will initially run for the 2019-20 season and club officials are hoping it proves the start of a mutually beneficial relationship.
Weiland said: “We know there are lots of calls on local businesses from groups within the town and there are only so many they can support
“Anyone who helps run a local club will know the importance of this kind of support and it will help set up the first team for the coming season.
“We are very grateful to Premier and all of the club’s sponsors as without their continuing support it would be very difficult to maintain football at the current levels in Presteigne.”
Presteigne St Andrews' first team will play in the MMP with Norman Lloyd League, second division for the coming campaign.
New manager Terry Williams will be in charge of the first team this season while Bryn Roberts will run Presteigne Reserves in the Mid Wales League (South).
