MATTHEW Mannion stormed to victory in his first outing for Hereford and County AC in their last Welsh Junior League match of the season at Cardiff Met.
New club member Mannion clocked a winning time of two minutes and 37 seconds in the under-11 boys 800 metres.
The Hereford club recorded a host of impressive victories including Eva Tyler, who won the under-15 girls 100m with a time of 12.88 seconds and the Long Jump in 4.85 metres before coming second in the 200m.
Meanwhile the impressive Charlotte Colbert won her three throwing disciplines in the under-15 age category.
Sisters Tess and Jess Morgan both achieved second places in Javelin in the under-13 and under-15 age groups.
Jess was also first 'B' in the Discus.
The team finished seventh on the day and seventh overall in the league.
They will now travel to Swansea at the end of August to compete in the Plate final against clubs from the South West and North Wales.
The Hereford and County AC AGM will be held on Wednesday, September 18, at 7pm in the meeting room at Hereford Leisure Centre.
