HEREFORD FC have confirmed the signing of pacey winger Raheem Hanley after a successful trial period.

The Bulls' National League North campaign gets underway tomorrow as they host Spennymoor Town at Edgar Street, and the former Swansea City left-sided player is excited to get going.

“I’ve played pretty much my whole career on the left," 25-year-old Hanley told the club's official website.

"I started off as a winger, then I went to left back. The role that Marc has asked me to play suits me down to a tee.

“I’ve loved playing at Edgar Street so far, the crowd have got proper involved when I’ve done certain things, they’ve really got behind us and it’s a nice feeling. I’m pacey, I like to get forward, like to get crosses into the box and hopefully get a few shots in as well.”

“From day one the boys have made me feel comfortable straight away, the staff have made me feel really comfortable, it just feels like home.

“I knew a little bit about the club before I came, but as soon as I arrived I got a good feeling about the place.

“I’m really excited about the season starting.”

Hanley, who came through the youth system at Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers, particularly impressed last Wednesday in a pre-season friendly against Wolves under-23s.

He also featured in Saturday's games against Aston Villa's under-23s.
