WYE Valley Runners are moving to a new headquarters in the city later this month.

After more than 20 years the club is changing its home from the Hereford Rowing Club to Greyhound Rugby Club.

Martin Flowers club chair said: "After more than 20 happy years based at Hereford Rowing Club we realised that the needs of our club members were changing.

"We are sad to be leaving the rowing club- they have been great landlords and have made us very welcome over the years.

"But we are very excited about this new opportunity for the club. The new base gives us easy access to the city’s sports facilities, a super club house for our members and easy access to quiet lanes and trails for running.”

Meanwhile veteran member Jan Edwards brought home double silverware from the Mediterranean island of Gozo.

Edwards ran the Gozo 10k in hot and breezy conditions to take the first international runner prize and the first female veteran over 60.

Wye Valley Runners has taken the opportunity to rejig their race programme and will be offering a series of new events.

First off is a midsummer night celebration on Friday, June 21, from Fownhope Recreation Ground.

The evening will include the Gords 6 mile Run along the river Wye and up Caplor Hill, races for the kids and a BBQ.

Details about joining Wye Valley or to enter the Gords 6 can be found at: www. WyValleyRunners.co.uk.
