A CENTURY from professional Daryl Mitchell changed the fortunes of Brockhampton and led them to a winning draw against Barnards Green.

After being put in to bat the 35-year-old put in an emphatic display by hitting 156 runs off 153 balls.

At the other end fellow opener Oliver Rogoff lost his wicket with just one run on the board before youngster Alex Hinkley added 27.

Overseas player Param Uppal boosted his side with a steady half-century before skipper Nicholas Powell added 23 to take them to 198-4.

When Mitchell lost his wicket at 277-7 the tail added two more runs and held on to finish their 55 overs on 279-9.

In reply Barnards Green right-armed bowler Uppal stemmed the hosts’ run rate and took 3-78 as they finished on 246-7 with Brockhampton gaining 15 points.

Brockhampton batsman Hinkley, from Hereford, was also called up for Worcestershire seconds for his debut against Derbyshire seconds in the Second XI Trophy- North Group last week.

Worcestershire finished on 235-1 off 44 overs before bowling Derbyshire out for 234 with Hinkley catching the final wicket to give his side victory by nine wickets.
