HEREFORDSHIRE Men's bowls team retained the Hooker Cup after securing a 119-110 victory over Gloucestershire Men.
County President David Holloway led the way with a 23/18 rink win before County Secretary Clive Handscombe followed by securing the highest rink with a 31/13 along with Tony Smith, John Colley and Glyn Lloyd.
County Senior Vice President Phill Williams also won (20/13) along with Don Pugh (19/17) and Bob Loveridge (21/14).
President Holloway's first game of the season was away at Builth Wells BC when Herefordshire Men suffered a 105-88 defeat by West Glamorgan BA.
His rink of Ray Harris, Brian Gregory and John Woakes was the only winning rink.
It was a game of two halves as at 11 ends Herefordshire were 11/7 ahead.
However, West Glamorgan picked up five shots on the 12th end to go one ahead. The next nine ends Herefordshire pulled away to win 18/14.
Other rink scores were: Colin Walters 15/22, Clive Handscombe 11/13 and Bob Loveridge 14/19.
