GREYHOUND Ladies have the chance to seal the Women's NC Midlands 2 later this month after taking a convincing 50-0 victory over Hardwicke and Quedgeley.

Before the game an emotional minute silence was held in remembrance of team-mate Chelsie Jones and the number four shirt retired in her memory.

Greyhound got off to a perfect start with Carly Phillips quickly offloading to Carly Whent for the opening try converted by Laura Jenkins.

After withstanding a response a ruck saw Abbie Roberts storm through the gaps for a score from 15 metres out.

Massive tackles from Sintija Ziraka, Claire Higginson and Bethan Williams kept the visitors out before Whent stretch her legs for her second converted try.

The hosts started the second half in similar fashion with a quick score from Michelle Ruddock.

Another try shortly followed with Georgina Evans and Abbie Roberts combining allowing Whent to cross the whitewash.

Michelle Ruddock then offloaded to Evans for the ninth try of the game. Ruddock herself completed the emphatic victory with the last try, converted by Bonnie Smith.

With rivals Banbury losing Greyhound need to win at home to Wellingborough on March 30 to seal the title.
