HEREFORD Head Coach Marc Richards said he was frustrated that two goals were disallowed for off-side during their 2-1 defeat by Curzon Ashton.

Mike Symons saw a goal in each half disallowed by referee Richard Gardner for decisions which Richards said were incorrect.

“We have just watched them back and Mike (Symons) had one disallowed in the first half and second half and both weren’t off-side,” said Richards following his sides' defeat.

“That’s really frustrating when you come in and watch them afterwards. My initial reaction was that I thought the first one was and then the second one wasn’t.

“I’ve just watched them back and they are both not off-side. That’s really frustrating as they were at key points in the game and we would have gone 1-0 up in the first half and 2-0 up in the second half.

“So really frustrating.”

Richards thought that his side deserved at least a point from the contest after Danny Greenslade fired his side ahead only to watch his side concede twice.

“We didn’t take our chances and they did and I thought we actually played some good stuff,” added Richards.

“We created quite a lot of chances especially in the first half and didn’t capitalise on them. We had a couple cleared off the line and a few disallowed today.

“I’ve just watched them back and it’s really frustrating. It’s probably one of the most frustrating games I’ve been in, in terms of losing 2-1.

“I thought we deserved at least a point if not three points but we’re sitting here with a 2-1 defeat. Not capitalising on those chances we did create and that’s obviously the cruel nature of football some times.

“I thought our performance levels were on a whole pretty good today but unfortunately didn’t manage to score the goals at the right times."

In the end an 86th minute volley by Sean Miller settled the tie which Richards said was an 'unbelievable strike'.

"You look at the second and it was an unbelievable strike by him," Richards added.

"If you set him up for 10 or 11 of those strikes again he might not hit it as sweetly as he did.

"We haven't had the rub of the green today 100 per cent. The first one was a bit sloppy in terms of being the right side of their attacking players and in terms of defending our goal better. We limited them to few and far between in them 90 minutes.

"It's frustrating because if you look at the percentage or the amount of chances that we had compared to theirs we were definitely in the ascendancy there."
