HEREFORD FC midfielder Keyon Reffell is due to be out until the middle of March after suffering a broken ankle during the closing seconds during the 1-1 draw on Tuesday night at Guiseley.

The 28-year-old has only just returned to fitness after suffering a broken foot earlier in the season.

An x-ray on Wednesday morning confirmed the break which will leave him out of action for between six and eight weeks.

Hereford Head Coach Marc Richards told the club’s website: “We’re all gutted.

“We were hoping, and our initial reaction was, that it wasn’t too serious an injury, but as we travelled home on the bus it became apparent that it was worse than feared.

“Suffering a broken bone is bad enough for any footballer, but we really feel for Keyon after he had battled back so well from his broken foot earlier this season.

“Keyon is a good character, and has already showed exceptional attitude in his rehab this season. I am sure we will see him return even stronger after this injury.

“Tim, myself and members of the board have been in touch with Keyon, and I am sure all supporters will be wishing him a speedy recovery.”
