PEGASUS Juniors manager Mick Panniers says that the club will continue to stick with their youth strategy despite their current run of nine defeats.

The club sit in the bottom three following a 4-2 defeat by fellow strugglers Bilston Town Community on Saturday in what Panniers said was a 'six pointer'.

Hereford FC youth players Brandon Powell, Oliver Purdy and Matthew McLeod have signed on a dual registration deal for Pegasus Juniors.

Powell started for Pegasus on his debut while Purdy played the last 30 minutes from the bench.

Pegasus have also welcomed David Kalonga from Kidderminster Harriers under-21s.

"They are all young lads and that's the way we are going to go on," said Panniers.

"There are only a certain amount of players in their 20s in the county and they are settled at Lads Club and Wellington.

"Tim Harris has been very good by sending us those three boys and we are grateful for the help.

"The goalkeeper (Brandon Powell) played well despite conceding four and they weren't his fault."

Despite going a goal behind Pegasus captain Kyle Panniers pulled his side level from the penalty spot on the 31st minute.

In a frantic 10-minute spell in the second half saw Bilston regain the lead through Dilano Reid on the 43rd minute before George Andrews pulled Pegasus level once again four minute later.

However, Reid scored again on the 49th minute and as the hosts' heads fell Ryan Boothe completed the victory.

"We need to win desperately to give us a boost as the lads have been playing well for six weeks but not getting the results," added Panniers.

"We are not carrying the goal threat, we're not conceding many and have always been in the games until the last 10 minutes.

"The big thing is confidence as we won three out of our first four while our confidence was high and we were playing really well.

"We are desperate for a win not so much for the points but for confidence. It's not going to be a quick fix but if we can keep a group of young players together for three or four years we could build a decent squad.

"We are trying to work towards a long term plan and we could bring in more experienced players but that would be putting that plan on hold.

"We do have to go with youth and it might be a struggle but if we stick together we will get better."
