- Hereford fell to their fourth league defeat in nine games as Ashton United stunned Ryan Green's side in his first game as manager.
- The first effort a goal was taken by Harry White after seven minutes after Jordan Lam cut inside and the striker blazed over.
- White again tried his luck from distance after 13 minutes with a free-kick from the edge of the box but his effort was blazed just over.
- With their first chance Ashton took the lead on 17 minutes when Matthew Chadwick's corner found Matthew Regan unmarked inside the box to head home.
- Just four minutes later the visitors doubled this lead with Chadwick turning goal-scorer and firing under Martin Horsell after beating Danny Greenslade out wide.
- The Bulls tried to respond and Billy Murphy saw his effort from outside the box fly just wide.
- Harry White went through one-on-one with the goalkeeper but Luke Pilling was equal to his effort.
- United should have been three goals ahead after 41 minutes when Jordan Sangha ghosted in at the back post but failed to tap the ball home.
- Hereford's best chance of the half came two minutes later when Billy Murphy's corner was met by player/manager Ryan Green who crashes his effort against the bar and Jordan Cullinane-Liburd's effort from the deflection was saved.
- Substitute Bradley Jackson was next to go close for Ashton after beating the off-side trap and turned an on-rushing Martin Horsell but his effort into an empty net was headed over by Cullinane-Liburd.
- Ashton lowered the tempo of the game in the second half but Hereford failed to create any chances.
- United also remained a threat with Craig Hobson forcing Horsell to make a save before firing wide moments later.
- Hobson could have sealed the victory with a third goal 13 minutes from time after Casian Anghel played him through on goal but Horsell made a flying save.
- It took until the 90th minute for Hereford to create anything as Lewis Hall crosses to Mike McGrath but he headed over.
