WORCESTER drew 77-77 at Droitwich club Vines Park after hitting back from behind and winning three triples.

Trailing by eight shots at five ends, Worcester held their own through to the 15th when they had only dropped a further one.

Picking up a five on the final end helped to secure a draw.

Taking the honours for Worcester was the triple led by Arthur Jackson who won by 12 and only conceded six singles while Bob Hanks won by six and Mike Bullock two.

Worcester suffered a 23-shot defeat 101-78 at Cheltenham (Suffolk Square) although they won two of the five rinks.

On a fast green Worcester took time to cope with the pace and after 10 ends trailed by 21 after dropping a five and five threes.

Over the following eight ends Worcester mastered the green when they picked up a six although this was offset when Cheltenham scored a five and two threes.

Worcester then only conceded another two shots.

Leading the way for Worcester was the rink led by Jackson by 16 after picking up a six and four.

Bullock’s foursome, after trailing by eight shots, collected a four and three to snatch a one-shot victory.
