LUCTONIANS saw their GB Liners Marches title challenge dealt a blow as they were beaten at the hands of Builth Wells despite a knock of 108 from Will Maund.

Builth put themselves into bat and found themselves at 247-4 before wickets started to tumble with Pete Griffiths taking 3-35 finishing on 292.

In response opener James Platford set the tone with a 43 before Maund came to the crease. However, wickets started to tumble around Maund and his side fell to 251-9 before he eventually lost his wicket as his side suffered a 31-run defeat.

Goodrich increased their lead at the top of Division One with a 154-run victory over Ross-on-Wye as captain Sam Griffiths led the way hitting 85 runs off 108 balls.

After setting a target of 263-5 three wickets each for James O’Brien, Chris Tookey and Joe Provis saw their hosts bowled out for 109 thanks largely to a knock of 44 by Michael Jeffryes.

That win saw their gap at the top grow to 19 points.

Almely kept their Division Two survival hopes alive in the by holding on for a winning draw against table-toppers Glangrwyney.

Bowling from William Owens 4-28 helped to restrict the leaders to 215-9 from their 40 overs.

With the bat Matt Jones top scored on 30 before Andy Duggan held his bat with an unbeaten 23 as his side held on and finished on 145-9 to take a winning draw.
