TERRY Jenkins suffered an agonising 6-5 defeat in the first round of the Coral UK Open last weekend despite a dramatic fightback against Paul Nicholson.

The 54-year-old from Ledbury nicked 'The Bull' has scaled back his playing campaign this year.

That showed in the early part of the match as Australian Nicholson went into a 5-0 lead.

However, Jenkins responded in emphatic style hitting several 100s and a 180 as he won the next five legs.

In a dramatic final leg Jenkins had a chance to seal a memorable victory, but both players struggled to hit the final double before Nicholson took the honours.

The tournament was unique in the fact that it was played behind closed doors at the Butlin's Resort in Minehead.

Due to 'unprecedented extreme weather conditions' guests weren't allowed to attend the event and only players’ families and tournament official were allowed inside the venue.
