LUKE Boundford's excellent season as Presteigne won the Spar Mid Wales League for the first time was recognised when more than 120 members and guests attended their annual presentation dinner at Luctonians Rugby Club.

Boundford walked away with all of the first-team's top awards, manager's player of the year, players' player of the year and supporters' player of the year.

First-team player-boss Adriano Girolami's excellent contribution, which saw him become the first man to win the Mid Wales League manager of the season and player of the season, was acknowledged with a standing ovation.

Alan Stocker also left the evening with two awards after picking up the reserve team manager's player of the year and the players' player of the year while Glen Tyler and Alan Stocker collected the respective awards in the colts' side.

Tom Edwards was the manager's player of the season in the under-18 side where Oliver Pritchard was players' player of the year. Most improved player was Richard Wildig while the clubman of the year award went to Andy Hammer-sley.

Chairman Alan Randell, who is stepping down after 10 years in office, thanked the committee for all their hard work during a season in which the club collected five trophies - the Spar League Champions Cup, the Otway Cup, the Les Dickerson Cup, the Ludlow Cup and the Kington St Mary's Cup.

Pre-season training begins on Thursday, July 12 at 6.30pm at John Beddoes School playing fields. Anyone interested in playing for Presteigne next season is urged to attend and new players are always welcome.
