COUNTY schools will be competing at Wyeside tomorrow (Friday) for the right to represent Herefordshire in the West Midlands Under-11 Hardball tournament at Solihull School next Wednesday.
Organiser Bob Hall of the Herefordshire Schools Cricket Association, who was forced to postpone the competition last week due to poor weather, said that there will have to be an outcome this week, even if it is necessary to revert to a bowl-out.
The first matches are scheduled to take place at 10.15am when Lord Scudamore will face Hereford Cathedral Junior School and St Paul's take on Kingsland.
Much Birch and St Richard's join the competition for the second round of matches and the teams topping the two groups will meet in the final at 4.30pm.
Tim Lowe, the chairman of the Herefordshire Schools Cricket Association will present the trophies at the conclusion of play.
