HEREFORDSHIRE visited Carterton BC for a match against Oxfordshire and were beaten on every rink in a 136 shots to 78 defeat after trailing 59-38 at the half-way stage.
Gerald Jones' rink played very well and were level at 12-12 after 16 ends before being unfortunate to lose 16-15, while the rink skipped by Don Pugh were down 8-7 after 10 ends but the home rink won seven of the remaining ends for a 21-13 victory.
Dave Holloway's rink were down 7-4 after 11 ends, but they too saw their opponents finish strongly for a 20-10 success, while Ron Perry won only seven ends against a very strong home rink in sustaining a 23-11 defeat.
The rink skipped by Alec Carter were down 10-8 after 14 ends, but won only two of the remaining ends to go down 23-11, while the heaviest defeat was suffered by Fred Williams' rink who were down 19-10 after 10 ends and finally lost 33-18.
