COLWALL have dropped back to second place in Worcestershire County League Division One after going down to a 60-run defeat to Bewdley.

Simon Mauger hit a century for Bewdley, while Charlie Eastoe scored 62 as the Worcestershire side posted 260-5 off their 50 overs; Wehan Joubert the pick of Colwall's bowlers.

In reply, Ben Butler was nine runs short of scoring his own century, but apart from Joubert (43 off 49 balls), too many players went cheaply and Colwall were bowled out for 200.

Burghill, Tillington & Weobley also lost, going down to a heavy eight-wicket defeat to leaders Worcester Nomads.

Ben Owens top scored for Burghill with 60.

Meanwhile, Bromyard's problems with the ball continue in Division Two.

Despite making a competitive 276-9 off 50 overs, helped by openers Edd Oliver's 99 and James Owens' 79, opponents Worcester Dominies & Guild still comfortably won by nine wickets.

Remarkably, they only needed just over 27 overs to reach their target, with Stephen Miles scoring an unbeaten 140 off just 77 balls and Andrew Wilks 83 off 48.

Rhys Owens was hit for 48 off his two overs, while David Taylor (21 off one) and Jamie Abell (21 off two) fared little better.

And even captain Will Yarnold, who bowled the most, went for nearly eight an over.

Bromyard are second-from-bottom and really need to beat basement club Alvechurch & Hopwood this Saturday in order to start getting themselves out of danger.

Elsewhere, Ben Chaplin's unbeaten 75 helped Bartestree & Lugwardine beat Rushwick by six wickets in Division Three, but Ross-on-Wye lost by eight wickets to Kempsey.
