HEREFORDSHIRE swimmer Nyree Lewis is aiming for more records at this weekend's VISA Paralympic World Cup in Manchester.

The 26-year-old already holds world records in five disciplines, with her latest coming in the 50m backstroke at the British Championships in Manchester last month.

But Lewis - who won double Paralympic Games gold in Athens three years ago - is not about to slow down and is eyeing up new records in the 100m backstroke and 200m individual medley.

"I want to try and break my world record in the 100m as it's been almost a year since I bettered it," she said. "If I keep on training really well then I think I can.

"I was third in the 200 metres in the World Championships behind Fuying Jiang and Natalie Jones - the world record holder.

"They're both going to be involved so it's going to be tough and I know I stand a better chance in the 100m backstroke as that's my main event.

"Jiang and Natalie are in that too but their main event is the 200."

Lewis added to her impressive display of medals with gold in both the 100m backstroke and 400m freestyle at December's World Champion-ships in Durban.

And the Leominster Kingfisher swimmer already has one eye on the 2008 Paralympic Games as she bids to add to her tally of eight Paralympic medals.

"The World Cup is really important in preparing for Beijing," added Lewis.
