BROCKHAMPTON and Bromyard both maintained their winning starts in the Crusader Worc-estershire League Division 1 by following up their opening day successes with further victories.

And Eastnor also got their first win of the campaign on a good day for county clubs in the top section.

Edd Oliver (54 not out) and Ashley Bullock (52) both passed the half-century mark for Bromyard who rattled up an impressive 261 against Worc-ester.

The visitors then had no answer to the pace of skipper Zahid Saeed who returned 5-40 to dismiss them for 172.

Steady bowling by the Brockhampton trio of Chris Boroughs (4-78), skipper Adam Hewlett (3-27) and Richard Parker (3-47) ensured that visiting Astwood Bank were restricted to 198.

Boroughs (43) and Hewlett (44) then had central roles with the bat as, assisted by Ashley Nahorniak (46), the villagers cruised home by five wickets.

Ishtiaq's 76 helped Eastnor to a three-wicket over Pershore after good bowling by Faisal (4-41) and veteran Jim Sandford (3-35) had restricted the visitors to 192.

In Division 2, Monmouth bounced back from their mauling by Malvern the previous week by claiming a draw at Barnards Green with Ian Mackinlay making a fine unbeaten 89.

Wormelow, who had come unstuck against Barnards Green the previous week, scraped a draw at Feckenham with their last pair at the crease, still 82 runs short of the home side's 270-6.

Ed Rollings (6-68) bowled well for Luctonians but could not prevent his side from building on their opening day win as they went down by 65 runs against Coombs Wood.

Colwall, however, bounced back to form in Division 3 with a crushing 249-run win at home to Stourport.

Tom Wolfendale (124 not out), Dave Powell (75) and skipper Peter Butler (74 not out) were all in the runs as the home side piled up 334-2. Charlie Griffiths (6-25) then followed up to dismiss the visitors for 85.
