HEREFORD Sixth Form College have recognised the phenomenal growth in girls' football within the county and, working with the HFA and ESFA, have extended their support of youth football by adding a girls' section to their existing academy.

The academy aims to provide two coaching sessions per week, using qualified coaches and working on individual skills combined with team play and tactics. Individual fitness programmes will also be provided.

The college have arranged fixtures against Filton College and Swindon New College, both high quality teams who have close links with Bristol Rovers and Swindon Town respectively, for the 14 members of the section.

Their record to date, in a varied fixture list, shows six wins in eight outings, scoring 17 goals. The team has secured funding from the Football Foundation, using the money to purchase new kit and equipment.
