Goodrich 3 Wellington 1 WELLINGTON'S poor string of results on the road looked to be in for an improvement when they took the lead in the 70th minute after holding their own up to that point.
But it was not to be, as Goodrich finished strongly to snatch victory and take the West Midlands League Premier Division points.
The first half was well contested with Goodrich having the majority of possession, but the hard-working Wellington defence eased returning keeper Marcus Priday in gently.
In fact, the best chance fell to the visitors, Keith Jones shooting just wide after being put through by Will Perkins.
The pattern was the same after the break until Pete Wallace headed Wellington ahead, knocking in the rebound after Andy Price headed against the cross-bar from a Perkins' free kick. The visitors opted to defend the lead and paid the penalty, Goodrich equalising six minutes later after winning possession on halfway.
Soon afterwards they took the lead, Priday deceived by a wicked deflection by Lee Mussell.
Unlike Wellington, Goodrich looked to build on their lead and made the game safe in the 89th minute.
