South Birmingham Schools 1 Herefordshire Schools 4 HEREFORDSHIRE under-12 scored twice in each half to record a convincing away win in their first match, a Midlands Schools second round cup clash.
Hereford were on top from the start, and were unlucky not to take the lead when Joe Tumelty's (St Mary's) shot struck the inside of the post early on, before being cleared. Brad Williams (Whitecross) put them ahead with a deflected shot, and then Miles Langford doubled the tally after latching on to a loose ball.
There was no let-up after the break, Williams rolling the ball home for his second goal and Tumelty enjoying better luck with a fine individual goal, to make it four.
Harry Hall (Ross) and Tom Parry (Kingstone) both had a chance to increase the lead before South Birmingham completed the scoring with a late consolation goal.
