Ewyas Harold 0 Wellington Rangers 1 WELLINGTON reached the final of the Hereford Times Herefordshire League Strongbow cup with a battling win at Ewyas Harold.

They will have to wait to find who they will meet in the final, as the other tie between Westfields and Pegasus was postponed because the allpay.park pitch was under water.

With the wind and heavy conditions making constructive football difficult, visiting Wellington realised they would need to defend well against a more direct Harold side and this is exactly what they did.

The home side created more chances but only put young keeper James Morgan under pressure on limited occasions.

Both sides created chances in the first half with Richard Harrison and Matt Ingram wide of the target twice each for the home side, while Kenny Styles at least forced Bobby Smith in the home goal make a save.

The winning goal was scored minutes before the interval, Nick Panniers bobbling the ball home after losing his marker following a Tom McLean free kick.

Morgan saved well from Tommy Taylor and Mark Cooper either side of the break, but the home side were guilty of wayward finishing in spite of dominating the second half.
