FORMER World Wrestling Entertainment star Mason Ryan will be grappling in Hereford.

The Welsh star, born Barri Griffiths, made his debut in WWE in 2011 and was part of 'the New Nexus' – a faction led by global superstar CM Punk.

He later competed in the WWE's development branch NXT, but left the American company in April.

Fellow British wrestlers Martin Stone and Sha Samuels will also be on the bill at Hereford Academy on November 29.

Tickets are available from the Academy at a discounted £8.50, with ringside seats costing £11.

Meanwhile, Hereford wrestler Steve Daw said he was delighted to make his in-ring debut in his home city.

Daw competed as 'Kaiden Rourke' at the Richmond Club in a show organised by Ironfist Pro Wrestling.

Daw bet academy rival 'Jason Kennex' from Leominster and was also was part of an over-the-top-rope Royal Rumble and was watched by his family and friends.

"I have been training with Ironfist for just over a year now and it's a great experience," said Daw.

"I first started training in Coventry when I was 14, but it was too much for my dad to take me there every Sunday.

"When I heard Ironfist were starting training sessions on my doorstep, it was hard to turn down."

Ring announcer Carl Haffenden also competed in the Royal Rumble, which was his first stint for Ironfist.

Elsewhere, Damian Dunne and Ryan Smile were crowned the first ever Ironfist Wrestling tag-team champions.

The next show at the Richmond Club will be on Saturday, January 24, with TNA's Mark Haskins and Japan superstar 'Lion Kid' set to compete.
