SEVENTEE-year-old Ceri Middleton set a new course record when Hereford Wheelers held their last event of the season on the Pencombe Hill Climb.
On a perfect night for racing, with a field of 20 riders taking part, Wheeler Middleton raced home on the two-mile climb in a new record of 6min 49sec.
He just pipped Climb on Bikes rider Jon Heath who recorded 6:50 and was closely followed by the third rider James Eldridge of NFTO in 6:51.
The women’s race was won by Wheeler Clare Fenton in 9:02 from Climb on Bikes rider Sharon Wallace in 9:07.
The race ended a very successful season for the Wheelers whose races throughout the year had attracted large fields in all of their races with a total of 1,302 riders taking part in all the races.
Winter indoor Turbo training at Sutton St Nicholas village hall starts at 7.15pm on September 25.
