WHITECROSS-based DPM have won the Herefordshire Squash League for the first time in their history.
DPM led the league from the opening round, losing just one game, and secured the title by just one point after a late charge from Whitecross Bears.
DPM’s Mick Dermetzel clinched the player-of-the-year accolade after winning his matches in all but one of the team’s games.
He was also nominated for his sportsmanship and team ethic.
Newcomers Whitecross Bears won the Knockout Challenge Cup after a 3-2 win over holders Whitecross Wannabees in a closely-fought final.
Women’s captain Annie Little, DPM’s Rob Reid, Steve Morgan, also of the women’s team, and the Bears’ Mark Sheehan has also been nominated.
