Malvern Rangers 2 Ledbury Town 4.

LEDBURY warmed up for their HFA County Challenge Cup final date with Westfields last night (Wednesday) with a hard-fought West Midlands League Division Two win over their local rivals.

Malvern took the lead on 25 minutes but Neil Gardiner fired the New Street side level seven minutes later.

A James Dean header and a shot from James Febery either side of half-time gave Ledbury a clear advantage before Sam Dixon put the game beyond doubt on the hour.

Rangers pulled back a consolation goal nine minutes from time but Town held on for a comfortable win.

Bartestree bounced back to form after two poor results with a 2-0 success at Wolverhampton Sporting Community Reserves to hold on to third place.

The outstanding Darren Andrews fired the villagers ahead in the first period and also played a significant part in the second after the break when he was brought down for Danny Hill to score from the spot.

Lads Club remain in fourth place but with games in hand over their county rivals after beating Newport Town 2-1. After their hammering the previous week at the hands of Ledbury, the city side created a host of chances in the first-half.

The breakthrough finally arrived on 65 minutes when Ashley Day headed in a Josh Pugh corner.

But defensive slackness allowed a quick-fire equaliser before Day headed in another Pugh cross with just a minute remaining.
