LUCTONIANS Rugby Club are ‘positive’ that tomorrow’s home match against table-topping Stourbridge will go-ahead.
The club have cleared snow from the Mortimer Park surface and there will be pitch inspection tomorrow morning.
“A final decision will be made at 10am tomorrow as to whether the lunch and match goes ahead,” said club spokesman Simon Green-Price.
“With the pitch cleared of snow and, a thaw predicted, we are positive a match will go ahead.
“Unfortunately, we must now sit and wait to see what the weather does over the next 20 hours.
“Things are looking positive with Will Burton reporting that the tractor is starting to dig into the surface of the pitch.”
Green-Price thanked all those above who have given time, effort and machinery over the past two days.
The National League Two North match against leaders Stourbridge is scheduled to kick off at 2.15pm.
However, Hereford Rugby Club’s trip to Barkers Butts in Midlands One West has been postponed.
The bad weather has also forced the cancellation of all matches in the Herefordshire Football League.
Pegasus Juniors spokesman Chris Wells said all fixtures at Old School Lane this weekend have also been postponed.
Westfields’ Midland Alliance clash against Continental Star has been called off due to the snow.
