A PERSHORE doctor’s surgery raised £500 for relief efforts in Nepal with some colourful prayer flags.
Staff at Pershore Medical Practice in Queen Elizabeth Drive set up a display of flags after the first 7.8-magnitute earthquake – the worst natural disaster to hit the country in more than 80 years – hit the country on Monday, April 25.
Customer service advisor at the practice Melanie Adam said staff had been keen to do something to help out relief efforts in the country following the disaster.
“Because this is such a big thing in the news we wanted to do something,” she said.
“We do try and get involved in things like this.
Just two weeks after the first earthquake a second measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale struck near Mount Everest, killing more than 200 people.
