A 52-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court today charged with raping a young girl in Winchcombe in 2011.
David Ballinger, whose address was given as HMP York at Cheltenham Magistrates Court, is accused of raping a girl under the age of 13 at a property in Winchcombe on November 9 by penetrating her mouth.
He was committed to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on Friday May 25 to answer the charge.
Ballinger is also charged with three counts of making category B indecent photographs of a child between April 20, 2011 and January 3, 2018. The number of images is 186 including 24 still images and 162 moving images.
He is further charged with making 1,141 indecent photographs of children of Category C including 935 still and 206 moving images between the same dates.
And Ballinger also faces charges of making 29 indecent images of children category A including 1 still image and 27 moving images of a child also between April 1, 2011 and January 3, 2018.
Ballinger is also accused of placing a covert camera in the roof to observe a person doing a private act for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification knowing that the person did not consent to being observed on October 1, 2014.
He was defended by Ryan O'Donnell and Nicole Maibei was prosecuting.
Ballinger was remanded in custody until the hearing on May 25.
