SIR – According to the Independent on June 29 a recent Ipsos Mori poll for the organisation UK In A Changing Europe indicates that 73 per cent of voters considered there was one law for the rich and another for the poor.

Additionally, 74 per cent of voters thought “big business” will always take advantage of ordinary people whereas just 18 per cent of Conservative MPs thought likewise.
Why does this disappointing disparity exist in a democracy where any Government is supposed to represent the views of the people?
