MP Harriett Baldwin said her West Worcestershire constituents were “furious” to see people taking part in protests which go against the Government’s coronavirus social distancing rules
She spoke in the House of Commons today.
Meanwhile, the anti-racism protests risk increasing the spread of the “vile” coronavirus due to a lack of social distancing, Health Secretary Matt Hancock warned.
Large gatherings took place in cities including London and Bristol and Mr Hancock said it was “incredibly important” that people followed the rules which require people to remain two metres apart.
The Health Secretary said it was a mistake for people to join demonstrations which breached the rules.
He told MPs: “The demonstrations that we saw over the weekend, where they did not follow the social distancing rules, risk increasing the spread of the virus. That is the clear scientific evidence.”
and it is a mistake for people to participate in demonstrations that help to spread this vile disease.
“Instead we should all be acting to do our bit to reduce that spread.”
