THREE years after losing 13st a Worcester woman says her life has changed for good.

Donna Goodall was 22.5st in 2016 before she lost the weight in under a year, finally attaining a healthy BMI.

Mrs Goodall decided to lose weight because she felt uncomfortable with her lifestyle.

Since dropping 10 dress sizes her weight has remained stable and Mrs Goodall continues to work with her personal trainer Luke Evans who she believes is a key part of her being able to keep the weight off.

"I have run my first marathon; I have done cross country 10K runs and tough runs. We have now enabled me to do all these wonderful things." Mrs Goodall said.

"He took me on and got me where I am now. I want everybody to have that chance. Three years on and my life is still so much better because I took that leap of faith. It's never too late. You can change your life and it can stay changed."

The retired legal adviser said regular exercise with a personal trainer has helped her "physically and mentally."

"Luke gave me a life but also taught me how to live it. I have had my struggles. I have been treated for depression and it is not always the case that you swallow a tablet and that's it."

"When you begin to feel good about yourself it makes you feel like you can cope with things. When things are going wrong or you have had a bad day, you have someone you can go to."

"It just gives you the ability to cope with life and puts you in a place where you can cope."

Mrs Goodall told the Worcester News: "People need to realise that being depressed is not something to be ashamed about. People are afraid to say they are struggling."

Luke Evans from Luke Evans Fitness, Shrub Hill, Worcester said: "I have suffered with anxiety and depression myself. It is one of the things I open up about with people."

Mrs Goodall who wants to encourage other people to have the confidence to lose weight said with the right help, weight loss is maintainable.

"It doesn't just stop then go away. This is about lifestyle. It is about how you look and feel about yourself and having someone you can trust."

"I think there is a perception out there that the whole fitness thing is just for big butch guys lifting weights. But it is about so much more than that."
