A SELL-OUT audience enjoyed an Armistice Tea at Kidderminster Town Hall to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War.
More than 120 people turned out to hear stories from local people affected by the war, along with poems, readings and traditional wartime Music Hall entertainment.
Actors from the town's Rose Theatre took centre stage for the event, using material sourced from newspaper reports of the time in their performance.
The show included a re-enactment of the scene from November 1918 when the Mayor of Kidderminster led a united service of praise and thanksgiving to mark the armistice signing.
Colin Hill, chairman of Kidderminster's voluntary Heritage Opportunities Group, which organised the Armistice Tea, said: "It was a highly successful afternoon and a unique occasion.
“We think we achieved our aim of reflecting a day of great joy when the war ended after four long years but at the same time recognised the terrible sadness of those whose loved ones did not come home.”
