A PART of Hereford Cathedral tower is at a 'precarious angle' after being battered by windy conditions.
One of the four pinnacles of the central tower needs masonry work costing around £10,000 after heavy wind caused damage.
Glyn Morgan, Chapter Clerk and Chief Executive, said that it is being kept in place by a steel rod stopping it from falling off.
He said: "We are not worried about it falling off imminently but will be lassoing it to make it stable as it is quite precariously up there."
Cathedral Close is open to pedestrians as usual but parts of the city landmark are cordoned off to protect visitors to the cathedral.
