THE sun shone for the Ross-on-Wye Carnival on Saturday which saw hundreds of people line the streets to watch the procession.
For the first time Roy Rogers and Trigger the Train carried the carnival princess, Lucy Phillips, and her attendants at the head of the procession.
The St Andrews Pipe Band of Cheltenham; The Bill Bailey Jazz Band and A. W. Parker (Drybrook) Band followed behind.
Anne Gray, chair of the carnival committee, said: "Within the town itself there were so many people lining the route, especially around the Market House.
"It was an amazing turn-out. We were so lucky with the weather."
There were many floats including a Frozen-themed one from Ross Pre-School Play Group and 101 Dalmatians with Cllr Craig Morgan.
Following the procession there was entertainment at the Rope Walk from winner of the talent competition, George Leney, and The Brothers of Blues.
There were also stalls, a fun fair and refreshments.
Held on the first Saturday in August since 1977, the Ross-on-Wye Carnival is the town's oldest community tradition.
Mrs Gray said: "We would not have a carnival without the people who donate their time and their services freely to keep the tradition going."
