I, TOO, have walked around the city centre and wondered at the open doors, allowing the heat to come out of the stores.
I thought it totally stupid until I went into one of these shops, namely the O2 Phone Shop and wandered around the store. It was ridiculously cold in the store and, when I mentioned it to a member of staff, she told me that they had to keep the doors open to allow access for members of the public in wheelchairs. Very commendable, I am sure.
Would it not make more economic sense for these stores to install automatic doors thus allowing ease of access for wheelchairs while ensuring customers were welcomed into a warm environment and the employees were not kept in the cold?
